Since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders, and the sin that so easily entangles and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1
I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home. I am the oldest of 3 girls, which explains much of my personality. I went to college preparing to own my own business, live downtown, drive my sport’s car, and live a totally independent lifestyle. I had no idea that God would re-introduce my husband to me after my first semester and that He would encourage us to marry a year later. Thankfully, God gave me a husband with a strong personality to match mine. I thank God, often, for giving me ‘one of the good ones’.
I remember telling my husband that staying at home was boring and that I never wanted children because that required way too much work. I then joined the Army Reserves to ‘make something of myself’ and to contribute to my country.
Thankfully, God knew better what I needed and what He had gifted me with. I am NEVER bored at home with our 5 children. There are always news things to discover and to manage. My military NCO skills comes in very handy when herding this bunch around! My high energy levels have found an outlet, and sometimes I even stay ahead of them 😉
I enjoy homeschooling and mothering my children. Sure, there are rough days, there are days when things can get a little out of control, and a few moments of wondering where a mommy goes to resign. However, they are short-lived. The hugs, kisses, and ‘I love you’s” are more than worth it all!
